Five Ways a Warrior Woman Writer Shows Up

bible study flourishing life for writers

Have you ever sat down to write and felt more like a weary soldier than a warrior?

Writing the message God has placed on your heart is more than a creative project. It’s a calling, and every calling comes with a battle: doubt, distraction, discouragement, and the quiet lie that your words don’t really matter.

But here’s what I want you to know, friend. You are a Warrior Woman Writer. All through Scripture, when God won the victory, women were among the first to tell it, and you stand in that same great company. Here are five ways a Warrior Woman Writer shows up.

1. She Responds to a Call to Arms

The Lord gives the word; the women who announce the news are a great host.

Psalm 68:11 ESV

Miriam grabbed her tambourine, Deborah sang her victory song, and the women at the empty tomb ran to tell the others the good news. God still calls women to announce what He has done. When you show up, write faithfully, and keep going, you are answering that call.

2. She Wields Her Words to Tear Down Strongholds

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.

2 Corinthians 10:4 NLT

Your reader may be living behind walls she built herself, made of lies about her worth, her past, or her God. Your God-given tool of words, made mighty through Him, can demolish those strongholds. Write the Truth boldly, and watch it set your reader free.

3. She Is Armed with Strength for the Battle

You have armed me with strength for the battle; you have subdued my enemies under my feet.

Psalm 18:39 NLT

Strength comes with your calling. God doesn’t send you into battle empty-handed, but arms you for the very assignment He has given you. When you feel too weak to write another word, remember that the One who called you is the One who equips you.

4. She Stays in God’s Presence

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Psalm 16:11 NLT

A warrior who drifts from her Commander soon loses her direction. Your best writing flows from time spent with God, listening for His voice before you ever reach for the keyboard. In His presence, you find the joy, clarity, and next step your words need.

5. She Receives the Holy Spirit’s Power

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere.

Acts 1:8 NLT

Jesus told His disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit before they went out to tell the world about Him. The same power that filled them is available to you as you write. Your words become a witness, carried by the Spirit to readers you may never meet.

Keep Showing Up

Respond to the call, wield your words, stand in His strength, stay close to Him, and receive His power. When you do, you will sense God’s confirmation rising within you.
