What Is Hayil?

The Hebrew word hayil means valiant, strong, a person of power, ability, and worth. It’s used in Scripture for:

Gideon — called a mighty hero (Judges 6:12)
The Proverbs 31 woman — virtuous and capable (Proverbs 31:29)
Ruth — a woman of excellence (Ruth 3:11)

Hayil is your word too.

__________, God is with you, warrior woman. He has armed you with strength for the battle. Put your combat boots on.

Then write down one specific lie you’ve been believing about yourself as a writer, cross it out, and replace it with the truth from Psalm 18:39.

Recognize that strength comes with your calling — God arms you for the battle (Psalm 18:39)
Pull down every lie and anything not honoring to God
Stay consistently in God’s presence
Receive the Holy Spirit’s power
Respond to the call to arms —write, show up, keep going

When you do, you will sense God’s confirmation rising within you.
