DON'T MISS THE WONDER

Let the Story of Jesus' Birth Awaken Astonishment

Day 5

And Mary said, “BEHOLD, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Luke 1:38 (my emphasis)

Imagine with me for a moment.

Hannah pours out her heart to God. “Yes, Lord, I will not give up until you answer me. I will persevere in prayer until your perfect will is fulfilled in me. I believe my greatest longing is the place you will answer me.” (1 Samuel 1)

Deborah responds with immediate obedience. “Yes, Lord, I hear your instructions. It is time for war! It is time to free your people from oppression! I will call out 10,000 warriors and my commander, Barak, to lead them. I will not stay back in the safety of my home but will advance with the troops to the battlefield.” (Judges 4)

Ruth joins Naomi on a journey into uncertainty. “Yes, Lord, I will give up everything that is comfortable and predictable. I will arise from the ‘Moabs’ of my life—the places of grief and hardship, the places I call home—and move to Bethlehem, the land of bread and provision.” (Ruth 1)

The prophet’s widow follows Elijah’s instructions. “Yes, Lord, your abundance never runs dry. I will continually offer my life as an empty vessel to be filled with you.” (2 Kings 4:1-7)

Mary joins the troop of women who say yes to God. Yes, Lord, I am your servant. May everything you have said about me come true. (Luke 1:38, my paraphrase)

Friend, join the ranks of women who say yes to God.

Your life will be filled with adventure, unknowns, yes, and even risks—but it will be so worth it!

The Lord gives the command; the women who proclaim good news are a great army. (Psalm 68:11 NASB)

Are you ready to say yes, Lord, I am ready for you to use me?

Submit your life for God to use you in any way he pleases.
