God had a new chapter to write in the history of the children of Israel and he invited these 12 spies to enter the storyline first.
Ten men rejected where God was leading them and they allowed what they saw externally to dominate their beliefs, words, and actions. They didn't step into the story God was writing because of fear, unbelief, and seeing the negative larger than the promises.
Story done. They died in the wilderness.
Two men, Joshua and Caleb, responded with enthusiam and courage. They rose up and spoke with confidence in God's ability to fulfill his promises.
