Summer is here and it’s time to put on your gardening gloves and dig in the dirt. I want to invite you to join me as we gather our pots and seeds and learn to Plant, Grow, and Harvest.
Throughout the Bible you read about gardens: the Garden of Eden, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Garden near the tomb, and the Garden with the Tree of Life in Revelation.
God is the Creator and he does his best work in gardens, especially in the garden of your life.
- He tills and plows our hardened hearts then plants seeds of life and hope.
- He watches over us as we begin to grow and refreshes us when we are thirsty.
- He brings a harvest of blessing into our lives and those around us.
During Jesus’ earthly ministry his teachings were filled with gardening references – seeds, soil, sowing, growing, trees, vines, and harvest. All these concepts carry rich meaning in the context of our lives.
Even if you don’t have a “green thumb” or enjoy plants, there are lessons to be learned from our Master Gardener. Allow the seeds of God’s Word to be planted in your heart throughout this reading plan. Then expect growth and harvest!
